What is the diameter of your personal bubble?

Of course, it depends on the location of the social interaction, but for the purpose of this question you are at your local coffee house standing second back in line contemplating silently on soy or non-fat. Two women come into the door and stand behind you in line. How far back should they stand? Answer: Three Feet!
Apparently the loud friend #1 did not read her 'Social Manual' and stood nothing short of twelve inches from my shoulder. If i can here you talk about how you can't drink mocha's because they give you diarrhea - you are too close. If i can hear you breath - you are too close. If i can 'accidentally' lift my elbow and hit you in the gut - you are too close. If i move up in line because i have room to do so - that is not an invitation to move up with me that means you are talking too loud and my ears have personal bubbles, also.
