My Own Bear

The above photo brought me to my knees when i first saw it. I have no idea wear it originated or it's artist but it stands up to the phrase 'A picture is worth a thousand words'. And because the photo explains it's self i will not go into the social use of metaphors but i will raise some obvious questions;
When did we change the moral standard and mask natural beauty for caricature imitation?
We are college graduates, parents, friends, employees, artist, managers, sinners, and hero's but each as individual as the fingerprints we keep. So why have we amplified the simplicity of our uniqueness to satisfy a comically crave of public humility and amusement?
I hardly have any answers to my own questions just merely food for thought.
Any additional thoughts?
