My weather man wore a Mr. Incredible suit on the morning news

Last weekend Janae told me crying is proven therapy and i completely agreed not knowing that in agreement i unconsciously planted the seed of a flourishing tear of frustration. This frustration is one Janae and I share too often. What kills me the most is on her weak days i give her the 'be strong' 'your just fine' 'don't be so extreme' 'it's fine' answer when i know deep inside those answers cast no light. I can't compare my life to anyone else but on a normal day i can handle a good amount of 'enter random event' but once i have bodily pains in the most uncomfortable places which inevitably open layers of emotional and mental strain I have to hide away in the dark. It's the 'straw that broke the camels back' theory. Needless to say - Janae was right - but some therapy still does not feel good.

Rev. Deborah L. Johnson

I found this on a fellow Blog but after watching i did some reseach on Rev. Deborah L. Johnson and at a glace i found her creditable and deeply knowlegable. Do your own research but it wouldn't hurt to look at this, also.

My RealAge

I am very hesitate about medical advice online and more times than none I take one-liner medical counsel at face value. I search for new and interesting ways to stay healthy and natural but i hardly jump on every new fad . . . well . . . just because alot of it is BS.

I just recently started using Juice Plus and i am doing my best to continue them every day. In the last year or so i have been paying more attention to what i put in my body and even more attention to the portions that i partake. There has been less stress in some aspects of my life but added stress in other areas. I have this passion to learn how to cook small meals and i know if i started i would enjoy it but i just can't get past the cleaning of the dishes part. LOL
I know Bob and Jillian would kick my butt because i try to be healthy but im just not succeeding like i should.

Recently i have been visiting NaturalHealth.com a few times a week. Right now it is not much more than a purposeful nagging whisper in my ear to 'step it up'. I read a few articles a week and try to realize that being healthy is really not that hard - it's just another change. Anyways, i was clicking away and found a link to My Real Age.

This website contains a quiz that compares your calendar age to your 'real' age. As i am taking this quiz im thinking 'why am i wasting my time', 'it's going to give me a bunch of generic info i can find in Cosmo'. . . and so on. . .

Well about 25 minutes i finished the questions to find out that my real age is . . .
drum roll please . . .
35!
Um . . . did i not just celebrate my 26th birthday! WTF To those non-math geniuses out there that's plus 9 years.
(Sorry babe, i love you)
BUT REALLY!!!

Breath . . .

Once i calmed down i read the results. In all honesty - were very helpful. They list back to you your results in health, habits, relationships, diets, and fitness and tell you the things are making you ‘Older’ or ‘Younger’ and the reasons behind them. They elaborate with problem solving and a personalized plan. This website was not generic by any means. The 'hints' to success were down to earth and realistic. Grated there was probably nothing on there that i didn't already know but sometimes the delivery to the messages changes the seriousness of the purpose.

My suggestion: Take the Test!
It will ask you your email and create a password. They will also ask you if you want more information about any given topic but you don't have to register for anything just skip that step. Or hell. . . get more information – would never hurt!

There were also some questions regarding your intake of Calcium, Vitamins, and Proteins in mg – who really knows exactly how much they take, but you can guess.

I will share some of my results – Good and Bad.

Because one or two of your family members had breast cancer, your risk is higher, which makes your RealAge older.
Keep following the recommended breast cancer screening practices for your age and level of risk.

Here’s why: Women who have a family history of . . . breast cancer need to be screened earlier and more frequently than women without a family history of breast cancer. Breast cancer screening and mammograms are the most effective ways to detect early-stage breast cancer.

6 Ways to Reduce Breast Cancer Risk
Be screened. See your doctor about breast cancer screening.
Be vigilant. Ask you doctor how to perform a breast self-examination; examine your breasts regularly for suspicious lumps, dimpling, or nipple discharge. If you find any of these signs, see your doctor immediately.
Be smoke-free. If you smoke,
stop smoking. Smoking ages your immune system.
Be svelte. Women who gain weight after menopause have a higher risk of breast cancer. Keep your waist trim and your weight in a healthy range.
Be active. Regular exercise helps protect against breast cancer.
Find out how.
Be a teetotaler. Alcohol intake is linked to increased levels of estrogen, which fuels cancer.
For more information,
take the RealAge Breast Cancer Screening Assessment.

By eating 2–4 pieces of whole fruit a day, you've made your RealAge younger.
Way to go!
Here's why: Fruit is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber and is also a tasty, low-cal alternative to unhealthy sweets like baked goods and candy. Plus, many fruits are loaded with carotenoids, . . . which have antiaging properties.Take the RealAge Nutrition Assessment for an in-depth nutrition analysis.

3 Ways to Eat Even More Fruit
Stash some at work. Instead of hitting the vending machine, bring a couple of pieces of fruit from home, so you always have a healthy snack handy when your stomach starts growling.
Find out the shelf life on some of your favorite fruits.
Whirl up a smoothie. Pull out the blender and toss a banana and your favorite berries in with some low-fat yogurt, milk, or calcium-fortified orange juice.
Find more ideas for healthy smoothies.
Add them to a salad. Combine savory cheese with sweet, juicy fruit and dark leafy greens for fabulous salads. Try these combos: strawberries and crumbled feta; pears and shaved parmesan; green apple and grated cheddar; cantaloupe and provolone; watermelon and goat cheese.
Try this one to get you started.

Hints
Watch serving sizes when dried. Try to limit yourself to only small portions of dried fruit, because it tends to have more calories.Don’t peel out. Many of the health benefits you get from eating fruits such as apples and pears may be attributed to their peels, which contain nutrients and fiber. So after washing your fruit, keep the peel on.

Vortex

I feel as if my Life has got in the way of my Life. Yeah - i typed that right! I am in the vortex of enjoying a vacation in disguise and motivating myself into my future. It's true that we humans fear what we don't understand and freak out at the moment of change. We sometimes postpone life's happenings when in fact they have already happened. We put our hands over our eyes to make the boggie man of responsibility go away. Then we wake up one day as we sip coffee and realize life has already happened we just have to learn to roll with the punches on our feet not our backs.

I have tried to avoid being at my apartment for about a week not because i don't like it but because it's a mirror of my 'life's happenings'. Way too many unfinished projects, dirty laundry, an organized mess, a little dusty, papers to shift through, bills to pay - it's the definition of:

Priority (noun)

1. the state or quality of being earlier in time, occurrence, etc. 2. the right to precede others in order, rank, privilege, etc.; precedence. 3. the right to take precedence in obtaining certain supplies, services, facilities, etc., esp. during a shortage. 4. something given special attention.

Needless to say i fear ‘priority’ because i don't understand it - i don't know where to begin! I started with the minor things, paying the AT&T bill, mailing off papers to EDD, emailed people for references, and took a shower. Now what? Blog. . . of course!

When i was in school i could not do homework in a messy room so i would spend one day cleaning and organizing before i became serious about the work. I find myself in the same predicament. The evil cycle starts here because . . . well . . . i hate cleaning. How does someone love cleanness but hates to clean. Anyone wanta be my maid? I have no money to give you . . . i pay with wine!

Yes To . . .

I have recently been very picky about what i put in my mouth and on my skin so i have been trying to find products that are natural and therefore better for the body. I came across a face wash and hair treatment that i think is simply refreshing. Take a look to Yes to . . .

River of Hope

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - with that said i want to share with you an article that i read a few months back that really reached out to me.

River of Hope

It's hard to imagine a body part that stirs more pleasure and more angst for women than breasts. As 10-year-olds, we wonder if they'll ever emerge. As young women, we learn about their magnetic power to turn men's heads. As nursing mothers, we revel in their ability to give sustenance. And as sexual beings, we thrill when they're stroked and caressed.

For all the joy they bring, they also trigger their share of anxiety. We fret that they're too small or too big. We worry about blue veins and sagging flesh. And worst of all, we fear that an errant cell somewhere may be growing and dividing, forming a tumor that could change our lives forever.

The fear is real: About one in eight American women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. This year an estimated 240,510 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and about 40,460 women will die of the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Everyone has a 7th Day

Just as predicted - i didn't follow any of my plans that i tentatively made in the last several days.
I did, however, exceed my expectation of good company and two days of laughter and patio wine conversations. Nothing can be better than two best friends in a hotel room in the middle of no man's land, queen size beds, a 34' HD flat screen, two cigars, 4 bottles of wine, room service, and all at 50 bucks a night (we have connections - Thanks Clay).
No life changing events or sudden realizations - there didn't need to be. Even God rested on the 7th day! We both knew once the two days were over we would get serious again, search for our next big thing and put on our big-girl panties.
There was, however, farting in private, showering after 12pm, drinking before 5pm, blonde moments while half asleep, reminiscing of our Inn employment and special moments at the Ranch.
So, it's Monday, and as my Papa always sang: " . . . On the road again . . . On the Road again!"

Priorities

Today is absolutely beautiful! I woke up the the smell of a little too much wine the night before and sweet kisses from an amazing love. There are just enough clouds to give the sky a little texture and no tree has the same color. Saturday's still winds sounds like gentle whispers and pillows of earth reach for compassion.

Whenever i decide to pack a few essentials i will take the 4 hour drive to Coalinga. Cuddle with Vada, hug my parents, and explain to them the simplicities of my life which consumes it all. We will get in depth about politics, unemployment, and my future. All of which is high priority!

I will meet up with Janae probably in some corner of the town so we are not seen by public eyes - i swear sometimes i feel we are secret lovers :) lol

I might take a drive to Bakersfield for several reasons. 1. I got a big car and alot of stuff can fit in it 2. I haven't gone there enough to see my best friend and 'why not' now? 3. I want to take a yellow flower to my grandparents 4. There might be another 'closer' there that i don't know about

I expect to get a little home sick in a few days and get eager to come back home to my wind chimes, Jupiter, wine at noon, familiar trees, and love. But for the next few days my family, which also includes dear friends, are very very high priorities.

See you Soon!

Brunch Reinforcement

Virgo (Aug 23 - Sept, 22)

Talk back to those annoying voices in your head, Virgo - I mean those nagging little chatterers who are second-guessing you 10 times a day, who are trying to undermine your faith in what you started in recent weeks. And as you respond to their agitation, do so with poise and grace - not with defensiveness, not with bitter complaint, but with a quietly aggressive confidence that that lucid intuitions you relied on to launch you new projects were basically sound. The annoying little voices are trying to convince you that you should go back to square one, when in fact you're on the right track but merely need to so some tinkering.

"About Me"

We have come to this point in the world where we describe ourselves under the HTML 'about me' section - not over appetizers or patio parties but over a keyboard and text . . .

So I fall into temptation and answer:

If you really want to know . . . take the time to get to know me. But if you only want the highlights to assume yourself: I love to laugh and drink wine. I will try anything once and i love verbal communication (something that this world is slowing forgetting how to do). I make sure at the end of every night my baby knows they are my world. I love fires and roasted marshmallows. I love doing things because the answer is 'why not?' I love traveling (even if it is to my own back yard) and taking photos. I will sit at a location for hours just to wait for something to come along. I am a little lazy when it comes to labor but if you need help with anything creative i will stay ‘til it's done. I love anything from Ikea and my mission in life is to keep my apartment organized for more than one month. I love my best friend and i thank God for putting her in my life - i have never went through anything alone. I am ready for God to take me wherever he wants – Within the last eight years he has made me flexible and willing to go anywhere. I have gone through more than some people at the age of 25 and without those circumstances . . . i wouldn't be me. I think the world has too many priorities when all that really matters is loving each other. I will spend the rest of my life attempting to live up to that goal that I have claimed others should live by.

. . . And that's just the beginning . . .

Chico - Phase Two

Chico (Phase One)

Encountering some new changes in my life i am tempting to go to the extreme and change the things that i have got used to the last year and a half - my surroundings - my apartment. Recently living within these four walls was only a roof and a bed, by no means did i feel at 'home' and was not proud to invite people over. But what i like about random turns in life is that by taking something away from you causes a new light on something that you already have. I thought this place would bring me down and take me back to the days when i would run just because something got tough. But in fact within the last few days this apartment has given my emotions and and my mind shelter. I must say, however, Janae added a great deal of healing to my 'multitude of illnesses' that comes with changes in life.

It's a combination of having someone complete your sentences, validation of small insignificant personal battles, judging a wine bottle by it's label, defining 'trisexual', vagina monologues (not the play), arteries flowing with Artichokes, balcony blenders, learning by Thelma and Louise, and being cleansed by the rain of October.

Life went BOINK

Let me start with 'I don't know where to start'! Sorry if this post wont make sense - my thought process is jumbled at the moment.

Yesterday i got the rug pulled out under my feet.
I landed on hot concrete.
Now I'm lost trying to find shade.

The wonderful thing is that because I'm use to random changes in my life without warning - i am doing perfectly fine. Really! Every door and window is opened (and it's raining today)!

You know those V8 commercials where average Joe gets his head 'BOINKED' for being stupid with his nutrition? I feel like God just boinked me regarding my life! It's refreshing to have a clean slate even if it was not my own decision to clean it.
